05 Nov Ciné-concert : Charlie Chaplin’s The Kid
On Sunday 4th November, Rosey Concert Hall opened its doors to the local community of Rolle for the third event ahead of Unicef’s World Children’s Day with a screening of The Kid with live score played by the Geneva Chamber Orchestra.
A silent masterpiece, The Kid is Chaplin’s first full-length feature film, written, directed and acted by Chaplin himself. It established him as one of the greatest film directors of the silent movie era and at Rosey Concert Hall, featured an enthusiastic musical accompaniment by the GCO, under the direction of our friend Philippe Béran.
Children and adults spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon with us, concluding the day’s celebration with a delicious goûter after the film prepared by our hard-working kitchen staff.
