14 Nov Said Skeleton Workshop & Concert
Said Skeleton is a band made up of four exceptional young musicians who have all recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music or the Guildhall School of Music. Their leader, Alexander Bone, is a previous winner of the prestigious BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year and has performed as a soloist at the BBC Proms. Le Rosey was delighted to welcome Alexander and his band to present a workshop on music production techniques, as well as the journey to becoming a musician and some of his memorable musical experiences so far. The workshop was particularly interesting to the IB Music students who are presenting music technology compositions as part of their final composition portfolio and to conclude the day, Roséens worked with Alexander to produce a new mix of an Ed Sheeran song!
The after-dinner concert later on that evening in the Black Box was organised specifically with our students in mind, offering a fusion of jazz, electronica and pop/rock compositions. Theatre tech students provided ambience with a light show during the concert and demands are already coming in from students to invite Said Skeleton back next year!
