12 Nov Ski Weekend in Zermatt
In early November, a group of eleven students resurfaced their base layers and skiwear for a weekend in Zermatt to taste the first snow of the season and try some new material. The weekend trip centered around a ski test, allowing students to push their skills and break out of their comfort zone for a different experience on the slopes.
With 15 different brands and over 1200 pairs of skis – race, powder, freestyle – ready and waiting for the students to test, it was a fantastic weekend in perfect snow conditions overlooking the Matterhorn. Each roséen tried at least seven pairs of skis, enthusiastically choosing material that they would usually not use and testing it on a few runs.
Students also had the opportunity to visit the Musée de Cervin to learn more about Zermatt’s history and mountaineering in the region. With a traditional Swiss raclette in the evening and a trip to the hotel’s wellness centre to recharge, it was a brilliant weekend to get roséens ready for our winter term in Gstaad!
