27 May Ardèche Visit Class 4
The long Class 4 expedition in the Ardèche is aptly named, particularly given the 12-hour bus journey we had to make on Ascension Thursday!
First there was the long descent (720 steps!) into the depths of Aven d’Orgnac, a spectacular chasm. Then, for two days, everyone had the chance to test their stamina and willpower by canoeing down 32 kilometres of the River Ardèche.
Les Gorges de l’Ardèche are located in a protected Natural Park, with a succession of magnificent landscapes. Our 54 students knew that when they took to the water, there would be no turning back! They had a great sporting adventure and were able to count on each other to rise to the challenge.
