19 Dec André Borschberg
Through his commitment to sustainability and dedication to innovation, Swiss pilot and entrepreneur André Borschberg is redefining the limits of possibility by bringing electric propulsion technologies into the 21st century.
During his visit to Le Rosey, Borschberg met with Roséens, emphasizing the importance of taking thoughtfully calculated risks – something he learned first-hand during what became an extremely challenging 5-day-and-night flight over the Pacific from Japan to Hawaii.
Under normal circumstances, any sign of aircraft trouble would have warranted a return journey, yet despite a system malfunction, Borschberg’s conviction kept him going forward. Thanks to this, as part of a two-person team, Borschberg and Bertrand Piccard accomplished an amazing feat: circumnavigating the globe without using any fuel aboard their revolutionary solar-powered airplane “Solar Impulse”.
With a thirst for exploration, his accomplishments serve as inspiration to aspiring Roséens, demonstrating that no endeavour is too difficult when tenacity and passion meet innovation.
