05 Jul Fete de fin d’année: Le Rosey’s 141st School Year
The Le Rosey community concluded its 141st school year with its traditional fête de fin d’année, a two-day celebration of musical concerts, theatre and the end-of-term prize-giving. Though different again this year for two reasons, firstly without the presence of the classe terminale, whose graduation ceremony took place earlier in the term, and secondly, streamed online to parents due to health restrictions, the fête was not short of celebration as Roseans performed across campus for the formal and informal concerts and French play. Roseans’ musical talent shone through a varied programme of soloists and ensembles at the formal concert, whilst an impressive setup in the foyer of the Paul and Henri Carnal Hall acted as the stage for the lively informal concert; this was a particularly enjoyable moment for the School of Rock groups who were finally able to play in front of a live audience again. Le Rosey’s French theatre troupe, who should be commended on their series of consecutive performances throughout the final week of term, immersed their audiences in the tale of Un Chapeau de Paille d’Italie, a walking play which saw spectators accompany the troupe across campus for the staging of each scene. The prize-giving the following day was a fitting closure to a school year that has demonstrated the perseverance and true spirit of Roseans.
Le Rosey wishes its whole community a restful yet productive summer holiday and looks forward to welcoming new and returning Roseans for the rentrée of the next academic year.
