01 Nov IB Theatre Arts Programme Symposium
10 of Le Rosey’s IB theatre students spent three full days at the IB’s Theatre Arts Programme Symposium (TAPS) in London. Mornings and afternoons were spent in masterclasses with theatre professionals and workshops with examiners, learning alongside 100 other IB Theatre students from a dozen international schools. On both evenings, the groups adventured into the West End to watch two memorable productions: “Come From Away,” a folk musical based on interviews with residents of Gander, Newfoundland, and with the passengers of the 747s that were grounded there on 11 September 2001, and an extraordinarily powerful and visually stunning production of Lorca’s “Blood Wedding” at the Young Vic, produced by an all-female artistic team.
